On pistiddu jam
you have

500 g of wheat flour very fine-grained
100 g of sugar
100 g of lard
1 tablespoon baking powder
450 g of orange marmalade or jam prickly pears
100 g of durum wheat semolina
60 g of orange peel

procedure

Sift flour with baking powder directly on a work surface, make a fountain in the center and put the chopped lard and sugar. Mix well by adding water to the mixture is smooth and silky, then form a ball, cover with a cloth and let rest for 30 minutes. Meanwhile, prepare the filling: Melt the jam in a pan, add the flour, by dropping it to rain, and orange peel, cut into thin slices and mix well. Leave on the heat until you obtain a fairly thick paste. Roll out the dough and cut discs of about 20 cm in diameter. Spread across half of the disks the filling, then cover with the other discs and welded edges well. Finally, cut them with the toothed wheel. Decorated surfaces with typical wooden molds called "pint-bread", so as to create various ornamental motifs, and put into the oven at 180 ° C for 40 minutes or until the dough will appear cooked but not too golden. Remove from the oven, let cool and serve.
